As Accounting Manager at Pegasus, Gary is responsible for supporting the Controller to oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of the company’s managed portfolio, including month-end closing, accruals, financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, and ensuring compliance. Gary brings extensive expertise in real estate accounting and financial management, ensuring precision and efficiency in the firm's accounting operations.

At Anderson Real Estate in Century City, CA, since February 2022, Gary has supported the VP/Controller and Director of Accounting in overseeing various operations in the Accounting Department. Key responsibilities include spearheading CAM reconciliation preparation, review, and billing for office and retail portfolios, resolving tenant CAM disputes, and managing ACH payments for vendor invoices.

Previously, at NewMark Merrill Companies in Woodland Hills, CA, from 2007 to 2022, Gary served in progressive roles, including Assistant Controller and Senior Property Accountant. As Assistant Controller, Gary reviewed monthly financial reporting packages for accuracy and compliance, audited lease abstracts for critical details such as rent amounts and expense recoveries and created NNN CAM recovery models. As Senior Property Accountant, Gary managed accounting for a portfolio of 11 properties with over 200 tenants and 1 million square feet of retail space, preparing detailed financial reports, performing CAM reconciliations, and collaborating with property managers on operating budgets.

With a Bachelor of Science in Commerce, majoring in Accounting, and proficiency in MRI and Yardi, Gary combines technical expertise with a strategic approach to financial management. Gary has a wife and 3 children and lives in Winnetka, CA in the San Fernando Valley.
